Refunds
We offer refunds within 14 days of purchase for eligible Docszero subscriptions. If a refund is approved, Paddle, our Merchant of Record and payment provider, will process the refund to the original payment method. Refunds include applicable taxes where required.
Refund requests may be submitted through the billing or support option in your Docszero account. Refunds are generally processed within several business days, although the time required for the funds to appear depends on your payment provider.
Refunds may be denied in cases of fraud, abuse, or repeated refund requests. This policy does not limit any consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
Where your local law gives you a stronger right than this policy, that right applies. Paddle applies the highest level of rights available to you.
What is eligible
A first payment on a paid plan is eligible for 14 days from the date of the charge. This covers both monthly and yearly subscriptions.
Renewals
A renewal charge is eligible on the same terms as a first payment: you have the same window from the date of that charge. We send a receipt for every charge, so a renewal you did not intend is easy to spot and easy to reverse.
Partial periods
We do not pro-rate unused time outside the refund window. If you cancel, you keep the plan you paid for until the end of that billing period and are not charged again.
How to ask for a refund
Either route reaches the same place. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for every Docszero order, so Paddle issues the money either way.
- From your account: open Billing in app.docszero.com and use the billing or support option there.
- By email: write to hello@docszero.com from the address on the account, and tell us which charge you mean.
- Directly with Paddle: use the "View receipt" or "Manage subscription" link in your order confirmation email, or find your order at paddle.net.
You do not need to give a reason. It helps us if you do, but we will not ask you to justify it.
Timing
| Step | How long |
|---|---|
| We acknowledge your request | Within 1 business day |
| We approve or decline it | Within 3 business days |
| Paddle issues the refund | Within 14 days of approval |
| The money reaches your account | Set by your bank or card issuer |
Paddle refunds to the same payment method wherever that is possible. If that method has expired or closed, Paddle will contact you about an alternative.
Cancelling instead
Cancelling and refunding are different things, and cancelling is often what you actually want.
- You can cancel at any time from Billing in your account.
- You keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- After that the account returns to Free. Nothing is charged again.
- Sites over the Free limit are never deleted. You cannot create more until you are back under the limit, and every export still works.
Export is available on every plan, including Free, before and after you cancel. Your documentation is yours to take with you.
When we decline
We may decline a refund where:
- the request falls outside the window and no statutory right applies;
- the account shows signs of fraud or payment abuse;
- the same account has repeatedly bought and refunded the same plan;
- the plan was used in a way that breaches our Terms of service.
If we decline, we will say which of these applies and why. You can reply and ask us to look again.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with a refund decision, reply to our email or write to hello@docszero.com with "complaint" in the subject. A person reads it. We aim to acknowledge within 1 business day and to resolve within 10 business days, and we will tell you if something will take longer.
You can also raise the matter with Paddle as the Merchant of Record, and with your card issuer or local consumer protection body. Nothing in this policy removes those routes.
Who takes the payment
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
