Terms of service

Docszero is a documentation hosting service built and run by Yeakin Iqra, an independent developer rather than a company. "We" and "us" below mean exactly that one person. The service turns Markdown, Word documents and PDFs into a published documentation site on a docszero.com subdomain, and these terms apply to docszero.com, to the application at app.docszero.com, and to the sites we publish for you.

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Prices are shown on our pricing section in US dollars and exclude any tax that Paddle is required to add at checkout. Paddle calculates, collects and remits that tax as the Merchant of Record. Your contract for payment is with Paddle; your contract for the service is with us.

Subscriptions and renewal

• Paid plans are subscriptions. They renew automatically each month or each year until you cancel.
• Yearly plans are billed as ten months of the monthly price.
• You can cancel at any time from Billing in your account. You keep the plan until the end of the period you have paid for, then the account returns to Free.
• We will give at least 30 days notice by email before any price increase takes effect on your subscription.

Refunds

Refunds are covered by our Refund policy, which offers a 14-day window and does not limit consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails we keep your plan active for a grace period of 7 days while Paddle retries. After that the account returns to Free. Sites over the Free limit are not deleted; you simply cannot create more until you are back under the limit.

• You must give a real email address and confirm it before you can sign in.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything done by people you invite to it.
• You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. We do not knowingly provide the service to children.
• One person or organisation per account. Do not share a single login across a team; invite seats instead.

Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account.

You keep every right you already have in the documents, images and other material you upload or write in the editor. We claim no ownership of it.

You grant us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, convert and build it into a site, serve that site to its readers, back it up, and show it back to you. That permission ends when you delete the content or the account, apart from backups already taken, which age out on their own schedule.

Export works on every plan, including Free. You can download the built site or your source with a config that builds elsewhere, at any time, without asking us.

Do not use Docszero to publish or distribute:

• material you have no right to publish, including anything that infringes copyright or a trademark;
• malware, phishing pages, or anything designed to deceive a reader about who is speaking;
• content that is unlawful where it is published, or that sexualises children;
• material that harasses a person or incites violence against a group.

Do not use the service itself to:

• host general file downloads, media libraries, or a CDN for another site. This is documentation hosting;
• circumvent plan limits, whether by creating extra accounts, automating signups, or otherwise;
• probe, load-test, or attack our infrastructure, or any other customer site on it.

We may suspend a site or an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will tell you what we found and give you a chance to fix it first. Where the content is clearly illegal or actively harmful, we will act first and tell you afterwards.

Subdomains

Every site gets a subdomain of docszero.com. Subdomains are allocated first come, first served; some names are reserved. We may reclaim a subdomain that is being used to impersonate someone, and we may reclaim one from a deleted account.

Builds and availability

A failed build never replaces your live site: the previous build stays published. We aim for high availability but do not promise a specific uptime figure, and we do not offer a service credit scheme. Live status is at portal.docszero.com.

Changes

We add and remove features as the product develops. If we remove something you rely on, or make a change that materially reduces what your plan includes, we will email you first. Features described as "coming soon" are not part of what you are buying today.

Third-party components

Sites are built with Zensical, which is open source under the MIT license. Zensical is not affiliated with us and does not endorse us.

• You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your projects, their published sites and the files behind them.
• You can cancel a paid plan without deleting the account. It returns to Free at the end of the paid period.
• We can end the agreement if you materially breach these terms, or with 30 days notice by email if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering it, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.

Export before you delete. Deletion is immediate and we cannot restore an account from backups on request.

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet a particular requirement of yours. Nothing in this section limits any warranty you have by law that cannot be excluded.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost revenue, or lost or corrupted data beyond our reasonable control. Where we are liable, our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and USD 100.

We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

We will post a new version of these terms on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new version.

Your statutory consumer rights, including where you must be able to bring a claim, are unaffected by these terms.
